Computer Guided Surgery

At Beech Lane Dental Care we have the ability to plan and place your dental implants using computer guided surgery using a Cone Beam CT Scan of the area where the implant is to be placed. We have our own CT scanner on site and this allows us to get a highly accurate 3D image of the jawbone. We can then accurately determine the quantity and quality of your bone, and where vital structures are located, to precisely plan where to place the implant. This ensures we use the best bone and also, crucially, avoid nerves and sinuses. This in turn makes the procedure safer, predictable and allows for an improved aesthetic result.

We carry out a CT scan using our 3D CT scanner and also take a digital impression of your mouth with our Trios 3Shape scanner. This information is sent to our specialist laboratory who make mock ups of your final tooth/teeth which are to be replaced on the digital impression and then put the digital impression and scan together in the planning software. This allows Prash to precisely plan the optimum position of the implant/ implants. The laboratory will then produce a drilling guide using 3D printing. This guide is then used during surgery so that the implant is placed exactly where planned.

This means that treatment is more accurate, safer and quicker. Healing is also quicker and in some cases the implants can be placed via keyhole surgery meaning no sutures are required.

We believe that our continual investment in new technology and training greatly enhances our patients’ experience and treatment outcome.
